Trump’s past campaigns and presidency were marked by chaos, internal conflicts, and negative headlines. After his 2021 setbacks, he hired Susie Wiles to oversee his return, and she brought much-needed organization and focus. Wiles helped Trump refine his message, encouraged him to tone down rhetoric about the 2020 election, and supported mail-in voting. Her management skills turned his third campaign into a more professional operation. Co-manager Chris LaCivita praised her ability to handle multiple high-stakes tasks, calling her the “perfect pick.”
While running Trump’s campaign, Susie Wiles also lobbied for tobacco company Swisher International. She is a leader at lobbying firm Mercury, which represents major clients like SpaceX, AT&T, and the Embassy of Qatar, though she isn’t registered to lobby for these clients. From 2023 to early 2024, Wiles lobbied Congress on FDA regulations, with Mercury receiving $120,000 from Swisher for this work, ending their relationship earlier this year. Mercury CEO Kieran Mahoney praised Wiles, calling her a valued colleague and expressing pride in her new role.
